What Does President-elect Trump Have In Common With Adventists In India?
CNN Money November 21, 2016>>> "Until last week few people in the U.S. would have heard of Pune; fewer still could have told you where it is."
Unless, of course, if you are a cricket-lover or a missionally aware Seventh-day Adventist. Yes, Pune is the home of the only university among the dozen or so tertiary level schools operated by the church in India. Spicer Adventist University located in Pune (aka Poona) since 1942 celebrated the 100th Anniversary of its founding in 1915 last year. Spicer attracts students from all over India and neighbouring countries, as well as Africa and beyond. On its website (http://spiceradventistuniversity.com) it says the following about its location:
"The university is situated in the heart of the well-known educational and cultural city of Pune in Maharashtra State, known as the Oxford of the East. The city’s salubrious climate, its adequate network of roads and railways, proximity to international airports, a developed world-standard expressway between Mumbai and Pune, as well as its impressive electronic mass communication system provide a natural attraction to scores of multinational companies, making the city one of the country’s major IT hubs, and a lucrative job market as well. Spicer’s strategic location provides the students an opportunity to obtain a university education in very favourable surroundings. Students can likewise make use of the facilities of a number of well-known libraries and research centres in the vicinity and visit many places of cultural and historical interest in and around Pune."
Seventh-day Adventists own and operate the world's second largest Christian school system.

Master Weaver & Bajan USCian Sylvester Clarke Opens Up About His Dyslexia
" ... Reading and spelling are not my strong points. At school I could not spell ‘the’ but could spell ‘apple’. I couldn’t understand why at that time, but now I do. “A person with dyslexia sees the picture before they see the word so when I was told to spell the word apple I would see the picture and then the word. But words such as ‘there’ and ‘they’ give me difficulty spelling even now. I do not know the difference between them. There are 37 certain characteristics dyslexics exhibit and most of us have at least have ten; so I had to learn a lot about my condition in order to understand myself ...”
