Here are a few pictures taken at the Barbados S.D.A. Secondary School's Speech Day and Prize-giving Ceremony" held at the Mile-&-A-Quarter SDA Church on Thursday, January 24. The Feature Address was given by Dr. Noel Brathwaite, Director of Research & Graduate Studies at the University of the Southern Caribbean, Trinidad. The pictures show some of the participants, and students receiving their prizes from Ms. Ishbel Bayne, Mr. Rudolph Allen and Mrs. Elaine Prescott. Ms. Bayne and Mr. Allen together with the late Lucy May Kum and B.G.O French (who both later served at USC) were the very first teachers at this school when it opened in 1953. Mrs. Prescott was one of the first students in 1953. The BSS is celebrating its 60th Anniversary this year. Click here for photostream.
